Reasons that make us the best choice for you
Why Choose Us for Music Lessons? The music information below will help you understand what our studio can do for you.
All we do is teach. We do not sell or rent musical instruments. This leaves us free to specialize in one thing – providing the highest quality of music instruction. We are happy to recommend reputable sources of supplies and instruments. For those studying the Suzuki method and all young students, check out Young Musicians for supplies, practice aids, and great books and other music information to help parents.
Our instructors are highly qualified and many have extensive performance experience. Most importantly, our instructors strive to relate their teaching to each individual student’s learning style.
Our students range from infants and toddlers in our Early Childhood music classes to private lesson students coming after school and even to adults in their 60’s and 70’s who love to make music with their friends, perform in their community or relax with their instrument after a long day. Our instructors personalize your lessons to teach you in a way you learn best. Let us help you reach your own musical goals, whether competitive or recreational.
Private lessons ensure that the student has the undivided attention of the teacher and can progress at a pace suited to them individually. Group classes are designed to compliment private lessons and ensure the student achieves maximum progress. View upcoming group class schedules.
Parents gain valuable music information they can use to greatly boost the effectiveness of their child’s daily home practice while they observe their child’s lesson. Young students benefit if the parent gives positive reinforcement and turns the practice drills into fun games. Our teachers will show you how. Everyone learns better when they are having fun. We want your experience at the Texas Music and Dance Academy to be something that fosters a deeper bond between you and your child.
Recitals and concerts are held at least three times per year for private lesson students and at least two times per year for our group students in varied environments. These events are optional and provide students with performance experience, practice motivation, and build confidence. We strongly encourage participation as this builds a sense of community among not only the students, but of all the studio families. Participation in music festivals, competitions and workshops is also available.
We offer full training in technique, repertoire, theory and musicianship to prepare classical students for successful outcomes in music festivals and exams.
Theory classes are taught for all levels and students have the option of getting tested at exam sites.
Children ages 0-5 progress through a program of up to four levels, receiving training in the basics of music in a fun supportive group environment. This program builds a solid foundation for later success in private lessons and gives students from non-musical families a similar advantage as those from musical families. We help the parents create an optimal home environment to nurture each child’s talent to a high level.
We support our teachers and students with a designated admin and customer service staff whom you can contact via email or phone at a time convenient for you apart from the lesson. Your valuable lesson time is then not eaten up by scheduling and administrative issues: you and your teacher are freed up to be 100% focused on precious quality time with your child.
